World-Wide WelcomeI grew up in St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada, and was raised in a Christian home. I was saved at a young age and began to be involved practically in the local churches around my early teens. Over the years I have been given the opportunity to attend and to participate in many local church conferences and trainings throughout the earth. One aspect of the local churches that I have enjoyed throughout the years is the sweet hospitality and love that I have received while visiting other members in the local churches. Having traveled extensively through countries such as Canada, United States, Mexico, and Taiwan, I have always received the same thing, no matter which local church I have visited: warm cherishing and a fresh portion of Christ. I have entered the home of strangers many a time en route to a Bible conference and training, and I have always experienced the love of Christ in every single case. This is due not to who I am or what I have attained in life, but simply because I am a member of the Body of Christ and a fellow partaker of God as grace (Phil. 1:7, NKJV). My plans for the year 2000 include traveling throughout Europe and visiting the believers in the local churches there. May the Lord richly bless His Body throughout the earth. Christ as My Life and Living One of the aspects of both the ministries of Watchman Nee and Witness Lee is that time after time, their word to believers unfailingly brings me back to the central point of my whole Christian living: Christ. Over the centuries, religions of every kind have sprung up due to man's systematic organization of rules, morals, and codes of behavior without taking Christ as the content and reality of human living. In my life, I have had the experience of receiving empty doctrines which supplied me with knowledge but left me feeling dry, empty, and spiritually dead. However, through Watchman Nee and Witness Lee's ministry, I have received light and an impartation of life into my being; this is simply because Christ is embodied in all their speaking. Christ is the reality of all positive things in the universe, and is the goal toward which I press. There is a stanza of a hymn written by A.B. Simpson that reads: How can I ever be lonely How can I ever fall; What can I want, if only Christ is my all in all? (Hymns, #498) To me, this hymn encapsulates the goal of Christian life. The meaning of my whole human life is Christ. Religion with its legality and dead letters has never supplied me with life. I thank the Lord for the ministry of Watchman Nee and Witness Lee because it has Christ as its content. Bethany Little | Back to List |
